Who to vote for in local elections (and help win) this election cycle
Ballots are here and there's some great local candidates you can support.
I will not be running for ANC this year, but there’s some fantastic ANC Candidates around the Cleveland and Woodley Park area that are going to help make our neighborhood better. Please join me in supporting them. If you need to know your SMD, you can input your address here.
Zach Shaben, 3C05
We are fortunate that Zach Shaben, who resides on Porter St. NW, is running for my seat in 3C05 for the next term. Zach shares our commitment to making Cleveland Park more vibrant, walkable, and safe for everyone who lives here. Samuel Littauer, 3C01
District 3C01, which covers parts of Woodley Park, has no candidate listed on the ballot. If you live here, I encourage you to write in SAMUEL LITTAUER, you can read about his great ideas here and donate up to $25 to his campaign.
Isaac Bowers, 3A03
District 3A03, which covers the western part of Cleveland Park, Cathedral Commons, and areas around Sidwell and Hearst, has the amazing Isaac Bowers running for ANC. Like my experience, he currently serves on the Cleveland Park Community Association board. This is a contested open seat.
Renée Moore, 8A01
My newsletter likely does not have a lot of readers in Ward 8, but there is a fantastic write-in candidate running in District 8A01. Even if you do not live in Renée Moore’s SMD, I encourage you to donate up to $25 to her campaign. She is a champion for safe streets, food justice, and better constituent services. Bonus: Flip over your ballot and vote Yes on Initiative 83
If you want DC to have a better democracy with more participation, I encourage you to vote yes on Initiative 83. The initiative changes our elections to:
Use Ranked Choice Voting, which requires candidates earn over 50% of the votes to win
Let independents vote in all taxpayer-funded elections
